Today's Elections

Below are the canidates that will be running for govenor today. Check out their positions on issues and what they stand for. Do agree with them?! Who do you think will win?
Jill Stein:
-          REPEAL OF SALES TAX ON BEER AND WINE à No, because of the negative repercussions that it will.
-          REPEAL OF THE CHAPTER 40 B AFFORDABLE HOUSING LAWà No. Although she thinks the current  law is highly flawed it is working, but we don’t have a good enough substitute
-          CUTTING THE SALES TAX TO 3% à  No because “there is already a $2.5 billion dollar budget shortfall looming for next year. The loss of an additional $2.4 billion from the proposed reduction of the sales tax from 6.25 to 3% would be devastating to programs that working people rely on.”
-          Reform of Marijuana Laws- Jill it should be legalized.

Tom Cahill:
-          supports gay marriage
-           believe is job creation
-           it is important to invest in many forms of alternative energy and need to consider nuclear power, natural gas, wind and other sources as unconventional power supplies.
-           health care has failed to address the issue of cost. He will tackle this problem head-on to make the system more efficient and cost-effective.
-          states should have the power to address the problem of illegal immigration themselves if the federal government won’t
Deval Patrick:
-          supports gay marriage
-          opposes death penalty
-          supports the cape wind energy source protects
-          thinks immigration is a federal issue

Charles Baker
-          social liberal (in favor of gay marriage and abortion rights)
-           fiscal conservative, stressing job creation as his primary focus

  1. I don't yet know who to vote for... but I am wondering how many of them will follow through with their promises. Politicians are not always honest.
